What's in it for students

The Times Spelling Bee Championship is the chance to be part of a high-profile nationwide contest and offers the opportunity for schools to display their students’ talents and mastery of spelling.

The live spelling competitions that will run up and down the country will be exciting and entertaining. Families and parents of students in the school team will be welcome to come and watch.

The aim of the Times Spelling Bee Championship is to make spelling fun and to help teachers to raise the profile of spelling and develop the talents of their students.

'The Times Spelling Bee is the Olympics of English. I am a huge fan of this compelling competition.'
Michael Gove
Secretary of State for Education
